Bennath is the Director of Operations at Pier One in Sydney and a self-confessed “travel bug”. She’s spent the last 15 years getting up close and personal with prestigious hotels in different corners of the world. Two of which she opened.
As a highly driven person, she’s always looking for ways to develop and improve. And loves helping others do the same. In fact, this is one of her greatest joys.
It’s this hunger for growth that’s seen her enjoy an illustrious career, moving from one country to the next and picking up awards for her work along the way. She has now lived and worked in 7 countries, including America, Qatar, Vietnam, Thailand, England, Indonesia and Australia.
And that’s not counting all the travel she’s done outside her job. Travel she might not have been able to afford or enjoy so frequently if it weren’t for Marriott.
As a Marriott associate, Bennath enjoys discounted rates on top of her Marriott Bonvoy perks at over 20 hotel brands across the world. A delightful combination not available to the average traveller.
Like so many of us in Australia, Bennath couldn’t wait to travel again once borders opened. Being free to bask in the first European summer in several years was made even better by affordable top accommodation. She snapped up a 7-night stay at London’s Residence Inn for less than AUD $1,000 – courtesy of her Marriott Associate/Employee discount.
“On arrival we were given a welcome gift of Coronas and chips – two of my favourite things”.
A personal gesture that goes a long way to feeling appreciated as an associate. Her membership later got her a great rate and upgrade at Hotel Danielli in Venice.
The upgrade meant Bennath enjoyed a room overlooking the lagoon and daily breakfast on the terrace. “This really took our stay in Venice to the next level.”
Marriott has satiated Bennath’s wanderlust through job postings in different countries, annual leave, flexibility around time in lieu, and the option to work remotely on the odd occasion.
Having this amount of flex and support to grow her career, while living abroad and travelling the world is a big deal to Bennath.
“It’s something I love to do. This is how I live fully.”
