Nestlé commits to closing the gender gap for women in Supply Chain

August 3, 2018 by Kate Beattie Leave a Comment

Nestlé has restated its commitment for workplace gender balance by becoming a foundation sponsor of Wayfinder: Supply Chain Careers for Women. Developed by Deakin University’s Centre for Supply Chain and Logistics, Wayfinder aims to increase the number of women and girls in supply chain education, training, jobs and careers.

Wayfinder helps to make women more visible by addressing gender inequities in supply chain and addressing misconceptions about the industry.

Nestlé Human Resources Business Partner for Supply Chain, Alison Bourke, said “Wayfinder is a fantastic industry-wide initiative to tackle a key talent attraction issue that many organisations face when it comes to supply chain recruitment. The program is designed to build the brand and image of supply chain as a career of choice for women.”

“Nestlé has made some great progress in our female representation in supply chain over the years. For example, more than half of our graduates in the past two years are female.”

“While the perception, and overall industry representation, is starting to change, there’s still more we need to do. Reflecting the diversity of our consumers and communities with a diverse and inclusive workforce allows us to make more effective business decisions, and be more innovative and creative – crucial factors for success.”

Nestlé is committed to a diverse workplace and promoting an inclusive culture. For more information on what it’s like to work at Nestlé, take a look at their employer page on the FlexCareers website.
